Siloam 153 is a family owned and operated eyeglass designer and manufacturer. Today we are, as we have been for the past decade, one of the most popular, recognized, and respected brands in the South American markets, especially in Brazil and Paraguay where we were first founded back in 1994. For almost 16 years, we have tirelessly been on the cutting edge of design and production, putting out two new models of glasses every month.

The name of our company Siloam 153 comes from two verses from the New Testament of the Bible: John 9:1-12, and John 21:1-11. Siloam refers to the site of the Pool of Siloam that still exists today in Jerusalem. The waters of Siloam flow from its source, the Gihon Spring.

This pool of course is the place where Jesus healed a man who was blind from birth. Siloam has long been associated with the gift of sight and thus is a perfect title for what we do. The 153 refers to the number of fish caught by St. Peter when he acted on faith and obeyed the word of Christ to cast his nets on the other side of the boat after a long and fruitless day.
